Trethevy Quoit is a fine example of a Quoit which is the Cornish name for megalithic tomb. It is located near St Cleer, close to Bodmin Moor and is known locally as the giant's house. It is almost 3m /9ft tall and like other quoits, must have taken considerable effort to construct in ancient times. Like most other ancient monuments in Cornwall it was recorded and studied in the 19th century by William Copeland Borlase.
