Wayside Museum Zennor

The Wayside Folk Museum is Cornwall's oldest private museum set in the tranquil village of Zennor on the far West of Cornwall on the St Ives Lands End Coast Road and has a fascinating collection of farming and mining tools including 2 working water wheels. It also chronicles life in the area including some of its more famous visitors (DH Lawrence wrote "Women in Love" while living at Zennor during World War 1 with his German wife). Zennor is a tranquil place in a beautiful dramatic landscape and this exhibition is well worth a visit. Zennor Church is also well known for the carving of a mermaid on one of its chairs.
