June 2015 Update

The months of May and June are particularly beuatiful in Cornwall. The flowering shrubs and the longer days after the dark winters completely transforms people's outlooks. It is a good time of the year to visit, especially when you are lucky with the weather as we have been recently, so if you haven't booked up yet, has arguably the largest selection of accommodation on the internet.

Spring is Coming

Well it might be optimistic to say that spring is coming in a Blog dated February. This time last year we were being bombarded with the strong winds and tides. This year seems colder than most winters, but at least so far it is tamer than last winter. The February half term is within a few weeks and although it is not particularly a big week compared to the other half terms, in terms of holiday breaks to Cornwall, it is when most holiday parks start to open up for the year.

August 2014 Update

Well summer is here and as well as the weather being pretty good overall, there is some good news. It was announced today that the Penzance Jubilee Pool and the Coastal path are among the 10 projects to receive government funding towards repairs after th winter storms. July 2014 Update

The year is flying by and it is nice that we have had good weather recently. Much as the winter storms seem like a distant memory, the hard work of repairing the damage is still ongoing and in some cases yet to be done at all.

Cornish People Granted Minority Status

It is a historic day for the Cornish people as they have been granted minority status under European rules for the protection of national minorities. For many people this may come as a surprise but for the Cornish and those that have a knowledge of Cornish history, this is long overdue. Throughout Cornwall the Celtic names and culture are still all pervading.

Railway Update

Well it may seem like a distant memory to some people but the impact of the winter storms earlier this year is still being felt in Cornwall and elsewhere. In this context it is such good news that the railway line at Dawlish in Devon has been repaired and reopened. The railway is a vital service for Cornwall, not just for tourism but for other aspects of business and social life. A lot of the time most people do not praise Network Rail or First Great Western for their service, but overall they do a good job and in repairing this damage they have done exceptionally well.
