Calstock is a small town on the Cornwall Devon border and was one of the major crossing points on the river Tamar. It mostly developed as a town when it was used as an inland port during the industrial period when tin and copper were exported on barges down river to Plymouth and then onto their final destination.
The river is now ideal for boating activities which makes Calstock a good base for anyone who enjoys these activities.
Other attractions near Calstock include Cotehele house maintained by the National Trust.
