  • "Just had a lovely week here despite the best efforts of the weather to ruin it."

A comfortable & well equipped cottage, the low kitchen ceiling not a problem & I'm 6'5". The only thing I would change would be to have a fridge with a small freezer compartment to it

  • "It is lovely, clean well kept cottage."

Parking is a bit of a problem but we coped ok.I'm not sure it is dog friendly, because of the two flights of stairs, and can be a problem for people with mobility issues. But We are in our 70s and we coped ok.Good location close to amenities. We would definitely stay there again.Lovely bottle of wine on arrival, thank you.

  • "The cottage has been beautifully renovated with top quality fixtures and fittings but the traffic noise and draft through the front door was very noticeable."

As mentioned in the description the stairs are very steep and parking difficult. The owners are to be commended for this lovely little cottage but we are in our 70s (although reasonably fit) and feel the property would be better suited to younger couples. Llangollen is fabulous with lots to do and wonderful scenery and the cottage is a short walk from the centre.

Some traffic and people noise from the road which seemed busy.

  • "Very clean and well maintained."

Stairs very steep and the parking very difficult. Key safe tricky and directions on arrival confusing. Not suitable if you have mobility issues. Position excellent for the town.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you experienced a few difficulties. The property details do clearly state that the property, as its old is not suitable if you have mobility issues, and also about the parking space. With regards to the key safe being tricky and the directions being confusing. Are you able to clarify what you mean so we can rectify anything? As these points have never been mentioned to us before. Spotlessly clean, ideally located for Llangollen town centre which is a very short walk away. Great canal walk to the magnificent Pontcysyllte Viaduct (ca 8 miles return) and nice tearooms in the adjacent village of Trevor. We really enjoyed our stay at Cuddfan and would return/ recommend. Accepts dogs too but you would never know that. Lovely town with the river and canal, plenty of walks for all ranges of fitness. Great food at the corn mill where you can sit out on the deck at the river. Great ice cream shop in town too. Nice surprise of bottle of wine and milk in fridge was very welcome. • "The cottage was gorgeous, just as described."

The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into the renovation and have provided everything you could need. The only niggle is that the kitchen table is on castors which means it’s really too high to sit at comfortably. The location is spot on (though the parking is a little tight!) and you can easily walk to shops/pubs you need nearby. The Corn Mill pub/restaurant located on the riverside is excellent, though would advise you to pre-book. We were lucky with the weather too so it was all perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I'm going to arrange that the castors are taken off the kitchen table. Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, warm and cosy, perfect for our Christmas weekend!"

Just a couple of minor points, the front door could do with a curtain, to stop the draft and some of the traffic noise… also a little Christmas tree would have been nice - maybe the elf on the shelf spirited it away!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with some welcome beers and the home owners were always on hand should any issues arise. The cottage looks even better in person and has a very modern and homely feel. Both myself and my partner was very impressed with the decor and by how much effort had gone into this cottage in order for us to feel comfortable, safe and welcome during our stay here. We will definitely be returning here again and we have already recommended this property to our family and friends.

On arrival, find off-road parking to the rear of the cottage, before stepping inside to begin your holiday.

The ground floor is home to an amply-equipped kitchen-diner, offering all the appliances you need to rustle up delicious dinners, as well as a handy dishwasher to make cleaning up a breeze.

The dining table can sit 2 or 4 people comfortably.

Climbing the stairs, the sitting room awaits you with a sofa and chair in front of a warming woodburning stove; settle in after a day of adventures to warm up and snuggle in to watch a film on the TV.

When sleep calls, head up to the top floor to find a well-presented double bedroom with king-sized bed, complete with plenty of storage for your belongings and another TV for those lazy mornings in bed.

Wake up with a refreshing shower in the en-suite shower room, before making yourself a hot cup of coffee to enjoy out on the private terrace in the crisp morning air.

If you don't fancy cooking, Llangollen has plenty of cafés and restaurants to choose from, notably The Corn Mill, which offers outdoor seating with uninterrupted views of the River Dee.

While in the town centre, be sure to visit the famous Llangollen Railway, a traditional steam railway with regular trips up to the picturesque town of Corwen, or if you have energy to burn, why not get your walking boots on and head up the hills to the ruins of Castell Dinas Brân to admire some of the best views in the area.

Just a short car journey away is Ty Mawr Country Park; the park is home to a handful of adorable animals to see while wandering the short but sweet path alongside the water and overlooking Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Travelling further afield you will reach the historic town of Ruthin; lying in the heart of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the town boasts plenty of walking and cycling opportunities to enjoy, along with the authentic Ruthin Indoor Market and Nantclwyd y Dre, Wales' oldest timber framed town house, where you can also explore the pretty gardens.

Heading in the opposite direction, the lively city of Chester makes for a wonderful day out, exploring the City Walls, the magnificent Chester Cathedral, and the fantastic and renowned Chester Zoo.
