  • "A lovely home right in the centre of Beaumaris."

Nice furnishings, very comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. (A minor complaint...some salt and cooking oil would have been nice). Location could not be beat, walking distance from an amazing bakery and we liked all the bars and restaurants in Beaumaris. Other beautiful areas on Anglesey within a 30 min drive. Fabulous break away

  • "Beds were comfy and living room was pleasant."

Leak under sink and cobwebs and dead flies in window areas, especially on lower level. Floor boards on top level need screwing down as they move and bang. Nobody told us that every car that passed on tight bend would honk their horns all though the day which became annoying. Have used Sykes a lot and find this house the worst by far especially given the cost.

  • "Fire not working, no instructions for heating."

Downstairs sink in the toilet was leaking, upstairs sink plug not keeping water in sink. Some light bulbs not working, no bolt for door just on latch , some window panes cracked.

A big thank you to Christine who was at hand when we needed advice from her.

  • "We had a really good time at Tan Y Bryn, the house was warm and cosy during the stormy weather we had over a couple of days - However, future holiday makers should know that the bedrooms are on the top floor and the steps on the stairs are quite steep so if they have mobility difficulties, this should be noted."

The house is full of character and the location couldn't be better. We would recommend a shoe rack and a row of hooks for coats on the ground floor, which would have been very useful given the wet weather and the need to hang outdoor clothing to dry. Also, some of the room doors don't shut properly which makes it tricky if you have a pet that needs confining to a certain area. Apart from that, the house is a very pleasant base to explore the surrounding area, in a calm setting and we had a very restful time.

  • "We loved this property, it’s in a great location for the shops, restaurants and pubs."

We loved exploring Beaumaris and enjoying walks by the sea. It’s a great location to explore the rest of the Island too, just a short drive from the many beaches. We’d definitely book here again.

  • "This property met all I wants and needs."

Great location for amenities and for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. Simple things like plenty of toilet roll was an unexpected bonus. The owner helped us with a garage recommendation when we had issues with two of our tyres. My only suggestion would be to have a double sofa bed in either the lounge of ground floor for less mobile guests that would require easy access to a toilet. Lastly the fact that there was off street parking was a positive as parking in Beaumaris was short on choice.

  • "This is our second time at Tan Y Bryn an elegant three level Georgian property with great views from the first floor sitting room."

Situated only yards from the Menai Straits it is well positioned to take advantage of the stunning scenery particularly at early morning and Sunset. The house is comfortable, well presented, and the shower is excellent. The internet connection is also good. I think a TV should be provided in the ground floor Kitchen/ sitting room, it would increase options for use of the large sitting area, and we would have found it useful.

  • "Beautiful house with original features."

The house is situated in a quiet little corner of Beaumaris and within walking distance of so many eateries, tea rooms, shops and pubs. We as a family with a toddler spent several afternoons on the pier crab fishing and the paddling in the sea. Tan y Bryn is extremely comfortable and cosy warm, the sofas and beds are the most comfortable that I've ever found in a holiday home. My husband, son, daughter in law and toddler really loved our stay in Tan y Bryn.

Everything was spot on and the pillows where so comfortable that I am off to buy some myself! Beaumaris and Menai have some lovely places to eat out, each place we tried was exceptional..what is not to like about Anglesey - we will be back as soon as we can!

  • "Overall we enjoyed our stay."

However the cottage was freezing cold when we arrived (4pm), We think that the radiators had just come on. We went out in the evening and when we returned it was still freezing cold and the radiators were now just warm. We didn't get much sleep because it was so cold. No clear instructions as to what to do with the bed linen etc, so we stripped the beds and put the used towels in the bath.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
