  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ladyford House, and can highly recommend this property."

Spotlessly clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Many thanks Jean & Peter

  • "A really nice stay and extremely close to public open spaces and the beach for dog exercising."

The only downside was that it didn't have an enclosed garden for the dog.

  • "The outside of the house is dirty and the windows look as though they haven't been cleaned for months."

The garden is overgrown and there are a number of loose paving flags which are dangerous for anyone a little unsteady on their feet. The inside appears clean, although the vacuum cleaner was completely full and clogged up and cannot have worked effectively for weeks. The handle on the vacuum is not secured and so you have to use it without the handle. When I did get it to work, it picked up a mass of dog hairs left by previous occupiers. The instructions for the induction hob are inadequate and we couldn't cook a meal on the first night. Only "induction technology" pans can be used but there are some ordinary pans in the pan drawer. The couches in the lounge are very grubby. There is a lack of mirrors and toilet roll holders.

  • "Had a lovely week."

The property was lovely and well situated for shops and restaurants. The only thing missing was an outside seating area the conservatory was lovely but far too hot to sit in during the day. Plus mirrors there weren't any mirrors in the bedrooms which made it awkward when getting ready to go out.

  • "Great accommodation close to local amenities."

Really well maintained and clean. Very well stocked kitchen and the house was very comfortable. Great for getting to the harbour and to the beach.

  • "We had a number of small maintenance issues which were quickly sorted but the drains smell and the sofas in living room are dirty - black in places."

It was a shame as the rest of the house was great. It would help dog owners to mention in the listing that the garden is not enclosed.

  • "The property was lovely well maintained , if I have any criticism at all it was with the lack of instruction info for the hob, washing machine etc I suppose that is what we use Google for ."

We had a problem withe the drain outside the kitchen window but that was fixed very quickly when we contacted Sykes . Thank you for a good holiday in a lovely house

  • "A pleasant stay in spacious and reasonably priced house, well located close to the coastal path."

Only 10 mins walk to harbour.Sea view from 2 bedrooms & conservatory. It was clean and well equipped with what we needed, especially clean modern kitchen. Very cold week even for Northumberland, so efficient heating was appreciated a couple of times. Good showers, white towels and even extractor fans that worked! Mattress in double room soft for us but that’s personal choice. Constructive suggestions:- There was no full length mirror in house - even 1 would help Need to fix vacuum handle - comes off each time we tried to vacuum No bulb in bedside lamp. Spares in cupboard didn’t seem to fit More detailed instruction for hob and oven - took ages to realise we had to press and hold unlock button 1st. The armchair was stained and needs cleaning - message to guests - if drink spilled please clean it - you would at home. 2nd message to other guests. Please put wheelie/ rubbish bin out during your stay - it was packed full when we arrived - 2 days after fortnightly collection. Sorry we had to leave our bag on top. Not ideal Cigarette ends in empty plant pots outside - another previous visitor issue but probably best to plant up pots or remove.

  • "What a lovely holiday home!"

We have stayed in many holiday homes and this is one of the best. Location ideal, just a short walk to Harbour and all amenities in Seahouses, off road parking set in a lovely quiet estate. The high quality of the furnishings and decor made it a real home from home. The kitchen and dining area perfectly equipped for all home cooking too, all of the rooms spacious. When we return to Seahouses,Ladyford House will be the first property we would look at booking. We would definitely recommend here for a great family holiday home.
